Who is the Marsden?

The Marsden Building Society offers savings, mortgages and home insurance to its members.

Founded in 1860, the building society has eight branches across Lancashire in Barrowford, Burnley, Clitheroe, Colne, Garstang, Lytham, Nelson and Poulton.

The challenge

The Marsden needed a website refresh that stayed true to their brand and values.

The navigation needed simplifying to improve the user journey and experience on the website. This involved increasing the visibility of key call-to-actions.

It was also important to the client that the website met all accessibility standards.

The solution

We ran a successful project together, which included:

  • A design sprint workshop to map out the user journeys and define the site architecture
  • Wireframes and designs focused on page functionality and specific calls to action
  • A managed build process with each section reviewed and approved 
  • An improved CMS to manage the website 
  • A website which had a responsive design and was accessible
  • A refreshed website with a simplified structure 
  • Ongoing technical support

The new website went live at www.themarsden.co.uk in 2023.
